Hi Buzz,
Thanks for your comment! I had a look at Stick Pick and it looks very interesting. We try to build Socratic and Higher-Lower order questions in all our resources to encourage learners to think more deeply. Having a prompt for the teacher like what Stick Pick, and like many of the resources on our website, does can be very powerful. Have you tried any of our Developing Thinking Tools yet? What do you think about them?
Thanks,
Alessio.

I have to admit, the question: "Are you serious about getting your students to think?" really caught my attention. I am a sixth year teacher in the US and I'm very serious about it. In fact, I have an iPhone app called Stick Pick that just came out in the app store on Thursday. The app helps teachers frame questions conveniently and quickly and even keeps track if students' responses! I'd love to hear what you think about it.

Sincerely,

Buzz Garwood

As a former student at Aberystwyth University, I know myself the rich sense of history that exists in mid wales. These pictures help to bring to life the events of yesteryear in mid Wales. Resources such as the national library of wales (jn Aberystwyth) also offer a great insight into the history of wales, and groups from history who settled in wales such as the Romans. That said, We firmly believe that technology will be and should be at the forefront of education, not only in a classroom environment, but also within other surroundings such as home schooling and distance learning. Our platform is aimed at children of UK Keystage Two age (7 to 11). It covers a multitude of curriculum based topics, within a fun pirate themed learning game environment. Not sure if Mid Wales was home to any pirates, but none the less we feel it's just the ticket to make online education fun... and the kids definitely think so too!

This looks like a really interesting event. I hope that colleagues will discuss the use of social media for professional learning and sharing best practice with a particular reference to twitter and the Welsh twitter chat #addcym and its growing development.

I wish all colleagues who attend a fruitful, edifying and enlightening day.

In honor of April Fools' Day, YouTube is taken an outing down memory lane with an older school twist onmodern-dayvideos. Perhaps this is an try and loop older generations into the viral video world – it never have been too friendly to generations past. As an alternative if only you could potentially teach your grandmother how to work YouTube.

ActiveX is a PC only technology, so it won't work on a mac I'm afraid.

It's pretty much the only drawback of having a mac! You can always use something like VMware fusion to run a version of Windows on your mac. I do it to run the Content Generator programmes!
