There continues to be a drive towards the informal sharing of resources and CPD which we at NGfL Cymru are keen to support, through:
- Rhannu - A website that allows teachers to share lesson resources informally amongst your colleagues. Originally developed to allow the FE sector to share Welsh Language resources, it has now been expanded to include all subjects and settings. It can be accessed via http://www.rhanuu.org.uk/ or via http://www.ngfl-cymru.org.uk/
- Forums – a forum system that can be utilised to connect, discuss and share with teachers from around Wales. Should you wish us to provide you with a private forum space, for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) or other groups then please contact us and we would be happy to arrange that for you.
- TeachMeets – Over the last year, NGfL Cymru have been involved in and managed a number of very successful Teachmeets across Wales. A TeachMeet is an informal gathering of teachers who come to share their classroom practice via 7 or 2 minute presentations. The last was #TMAddcym which can be watched on demand via the Internet here. We hope to build on the impact of these in the coming year and are in discussion with a number of Local Authorities about future events. We will keep you up to date via our blog and the TeachMeet Wiki.
- #addcym – In a recent statement about digital classroom teaching Leighton Andrews, the Minister for Education and Skills, hi-lighted that #addcym (The Addysg Cymru Group) are utilising on-line technologies to develop collaborative ways of working and to support this we will soon be launching an ‘#addcym’ area on NGfL Cymru. It will include information about #addcym, a weekly digest of the #addcym online discussions and links to a wide range of Welsh educator and class blogs. So, if you can’t make the weekly chat on a Tuesday night between 8pm and 9pm then you will be kept up to date here.
If you would like to be involved in a TeachMeet, would be happy to host an event at your school or would like your education blog to be added to our list then please contact melanie.blount@ngfl-cymru.org.uk
